Writing electronic books are the in thing these days for writers. You can opt to specialize in this field only if you have the patience for writing long, heavy researched materials. An eBook, obviously, must be a credible, well-organized piece of work.

For those of you who want to venture in this new field of writing, here are some top pointers to consider in writing your first eBook:

1. Write what you know In-depth knowledge and first-hand experience on your e-book's topic will make it easy for you to write the book. As most writers know, it's really hard to convince your reader about what you're saying if you, first of all, do not know what you're talking about. Remember, credibility is the key.

2. Create your know-how library catalogue It's like having a SWOT analysis. You identify your strengths and weaknesses. For eBook writing purposes, it would be helpful if you have a clearly written inventory of topics you can easily write about. This will also prepare you with a ready pool of ideas /topics for future use, especially if your first eBook hits big and a follow-up eBook becomes in demand.

3. Brush up on what you currently know Once you've pinpointed the things you really have knowledge of, the next practical step to do is to upgrade what you know. Read, read, read, and enjoy the moment while doing so. Have fun as you research all the aspects of what you need to know from a variety of sources not only limited to the Internet.

4. Organize your research materials After your research work and self-upgrading is done, remember to always organize what new stuff you have learned and to sort the material you have collected accordingly. Breaking down the materials you have gathered into the different fields of know-how you have is a prerequisite to the actual writing of your eBook. Categorizing each sorted material further will be for the identification of what topics each eBook shall contain.

5. Identify which topic you will first write about Identifying what topic your eBook will discuss becomes easy after you have organized your pool of data.

6. Map out your chapters With a topic at hand for your first eBook, it's time to create a map of how you will discuss this throughout your book, which of course needs to be broken down into chapters. Identify what each chapter will focus on and plan how you will connect these ideas as one chapter should connect to the other.
