Believe it or not, you don't need to possess a high level of professional writing skills to write a powerful e-book. If you have reasonably good literary talents, you already possess half of the requirements needed for you to be a successful e-book writer.

The other half is solid organizational skills. A big part of your e-book's success will rely on how much thought and effort you put in the planning process. Prior to the actual writing of the final draft, ideas need to be polished close, if not equal to, perfection.

The planning process involved in powerful e-book writing generally has the following steps:

1.) Choosing a topic Before you write down anything, even as a part of a draft, you need to pick a topic with just the right scope. Be sure that the topic you'll be working on can cover at least around fifty pages.

2.) Researching the topic Pull up your knowledge, take out your books, surf the Internet, interview people, etc. Don't set too many limits when doing your research. Gather all the facts you need from all forms of media within your reach.

3.) Organizing gathered data After your research, you'll find yourself with too much information. It can be overwhelming, and you may get even more confused at this stage than when you first started your research. Before you let your confusion get the best of you, file your facts into different categories so that you'll know where to look for references once you start writing.

4.) Creating an outline The outline will define the direction your e-book will take, so carefully create one that is solid enough to be your guide all throughout the writing process. Even if you make revisions along the way, a good outline is able to stick to your primary and original aim. If you feel you're veering off into a completely different direction while you're writing, one look at your outline should be enough for you to get back in track.
