I have so many people look at me strangely and ask what an e-book is. This can also be known as an electronic e-book or a digital e-book. So I thought I would take the time to explain what this relatively new concept is.

An E-book is an electronic file of a book. It is sent to you by Adobe pdf attachment to an email address of your choice with easy step by step instructions for downloading your attachment on to your computer. It couldn't be easier.

If you are wondering what is a adobe pdf attachment, this is a software programme which comes on most computers that opens the file for you to read your attachment. This programme is completely free.

You then open it like any other attachment received in your email. This is safe and virus free. You can then save your e-book into a file and read it from your computer or print it out from your printer and place in a binder.

There will be no hard covered books stored any more under the bed or in the Attic collecting dust. And the best advantage is you receive your book immediately. You never have to worry about finding a car park to get to your book store or never have to worry about shipping time or costs. A lot of e-books are of the informative nature, which makes them particularly useful for teachers, students or anyone wanting to find information about anything.
